MichaelWahl7184 about 1 year agoYour comment is awaiting moderation.So what does this mean for maintenance subscription owners like me with 12 AutoCAD architecture seats. Are they now worthless? Do we roll to this new version with a few limitations? I haven’t received any updates or notifications from Autodesk about any of this.Autodesk promised to support us and honor our VERY expensive investment when they announced subscription, then they started jacking the renewal prices to ‘entice’ (read ‘push at gunpoint’) to yearly subscription despite the math not making ANY sense.

In addition to the fact that we have already paid for this software to the tune of $8,000.00 a copy with years of yearly maintenance on-top. Now they have started ‘consolidating products’ in a clear attempt to make these subscriptions more attractive since they know the numbers still don’t make any sense for the product you get.Another user predicted this two years ago, but it happened even more quickly than I had thought: Now that Autodesk gets their cut no-matter what they produce; ‘new features’ have dried up.

There’s no incentive for them to offer us anything. Most of these ‘new things’ are just renamed and slightly refined; even performance and usability upgrades have dried-up.Thanks Autodesk; I’ve used AutoCAD since 1990 and you have turned into the grand vision John Walker wanted and that Mike Riddle got mad and left for. Your business practices reflect the sleazy wall-street investors that have taken-over the software industry and you suck.
